Irpin town in Kyiv region liberated from Russian invaders

The town of Irpin, Kyiv region, has been liberated from Russian invaders, but residents are still unable to return.

"Our Irpin has been liberated from the Moscow evil!!! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to its defenders! Eternal memory to the fallen Heroes!" Irpin Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn posted on Facebook.

At the same time, he asked the residents not to return to the town for some time.

"We have good news today. Today, Irpin has been liberated. Now the clean-up is underway. I appeal to our residents: it is still impossible to return to Irpin, it is still dangerous. We gain a foothold on our new frontiers and will continue to advance and liberate Bucha, Hostomel, Vorzel. We understand that there will be more attacks on our town. And we will courageously defend it. Irpin is Ukraine!” the mayor emphasized.

He thanked the liberators of Irpin, in particular the service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Territorial Defence Forces, and the National Police. "We are strong when we are together!" Markushin emphasized.

As reported, more than 40 shellings of residential neighborhoods and social infrastructure by Russian troops have been recorded over the past 24 hours. The districts of Bucha (Irpin, Bucha, Makariv, Borodianka, Dmytriv communities), Brovary (Velyka Dymerka community), and Vyshhorod (Dymer and Ivankiv communities) suffered the greatest damage as a result of the attacks.
