In Ukraine’s south, Ukrainian forces down two Russian Su-30 fighter jets

At 5:00 am on Wednesday, March 16, in the south of Ukraine, the anti-aircraft missile unit of the Air Command South shot down two Russian Su-30SM supermaneuverable fighter jets.

The Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine broke the news on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"A pair of fighter jets manned by the occupation forces attempted to attack a village in Odess region. The anti-aircraft missile unit of the Air Command South destroyed both warplanes. The pilots ejected and followed the aircraft into the Ukrainian Black Sea," the statement said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine updated the Russian army death toll to 13,800 – that’s from February 24 to March 16.
