Interior Ministry: Only Mariupol remains encircled by enemy

Currently, only the town of Mariupol, Donetsk region, remains encircled by Russian troops.

"Only the town of Mariupol remains encircled. As for all other cities, they are not completely encircled. Kharkiv defends itself. As for Kharkiv, we launched a small counterattack at night in Izium area. We repulsed the enemy a little bit, we destroyed several units of equipment. That is, we continue to defend ourselves, we continue to repel the enemy as much as possible in the current situation," Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Denysenko said on the air of Ukrainian TV channels.

At the same time, he believes that the Russians will continue their attacks because "obviously, Putin gives instruction to destroy civilian infrastructure, to destroy, in fact, any infrastructure that exists in Ukraine."

He assured that Ukraine would defend itself and repel the Russians from their positions.

Denysenko also expressed hope that civilians would be able to leave Mariupol currently shelled by the invaders.

In addition, Denysenko believes that the reserves of the Russian army are depleting.
