Israel sends 15 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Ukraine

The Israeli volunteer organization United Hatzalah on Thursday sent 15 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees to Ukraine's border with Moldova, Israel's news agency TPS has told Ukrinform.

According to the report, a charter flight by El Al airline to Romania will deliver assistance in the form of medicines, food, hygiene, clothing.

In addition, 40 medics will arrive at the border to help Ukrainian refugees, including ambulance doctors, paramedics, psychologists, and therapists, who will travel from Romania to Ukraine's border with Moldova to help Ukrainian refugees.

According to United Hatzalah spokesman David Krispil, who works on Ukraine's border with Moldova, Israeli volunteers help about 1,500 Ukrainian refugees every day by providing them with food, clothing and, if necessary, medical care.

The return flight will take about 150 Ukrainian refugees with Israeli citizenship to Israel, the report said.

Earlier, more than 100 tonnes of humanitarian aid were delivered to Ukraine from Israel, including 17 tonnes of medical equipment and medicines, Israeli water purification systems and emergency water supply kits, as well as thousands of tents, blankets, sleeping bags and outerwear.

In addition, several teams of Israeli volunteer medics arrived in Ukraine.
