Five people injured in airstrike on Sumy city

A Russian airstrike on Sumy city injured five people.

The press service of the Sumy Regional Military Administration wrote on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Sumy. We woke up today from a powerful airtrike on the territory of our 27th artillery brigade, the military department of the Sumy State University and the cadet corps. Five are now in hospital," the report says.

Earlier, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyi wrote on Facebook that on the first day of the war a fire broke out in the cadet corps after street fighting, and following the latest shelling the building was almost fully destroyed.  There have been no students (cadets) in the building.  There have been no students (cadets) in the building.

As reported, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure. Missiles hit residential buildings.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.

Ukraine officially filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation with the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague.
