Canada to send food kits, bulletproof vests to Ukraine

Canada will send to Ukraine more than 1,600 bulletproof vests and about 400,000 individual meal kits as part of its ongoing support for the country.

Canada’s Defence Minister Anita Anand said this at a press conference in Ottawa, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

She added that Canada had received a request for such type of assistance from Ukraine.

"We will continue to support Ukraine," the minister stressed.

As reported, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure. Missiles hit residential buildings.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.

Ukraine officially filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation with the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague.
