Albania closes its skies to Russia, Britain preparing to close its ports - Nikolenko

Albania has joined the states that have closed their airspace to Russian aircraft.

According to Ukrinform, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko reported this on Facebook on March 1.

"The number of states that have closed their airspace to Russian aircraft has expanded. Albania joined them now," he said.

Nikolenko added that Russia now faces mass port closures and restrictions on sea travel.

In this context, he said that the United Kingdom is developing a legislative decision so as to prevent Russian ships from entering British ports.

Earlier reports said that the EU had completely closed its airspace to all Russian aircraft.

The anti-Putin coalition in support of Ukraine started preparing a fourth package of sanctions against Russia. The new sanctions package will include the expulsion of some Russian diplomats and the further tightening of sanctions against the banking system and Putin's entourage.

In addition, the EU is considering creating a "register of corrupt Russian officials," which will include both government officials and businessmen close to the Kremlin who will not be able to have financial relations or do business with the civilized world.
