The Darnytsia Combined Heat and Power Plant will remain privately owned but will receive equipment assistance for its restoration.

This was stated by First Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal during the government Q&A session in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We are not going to nationalize the Darnytsia CHPP; it will remain in private ownership. We are going to restore it,” Shmyhal said.

He stressed that the consequences of Russian terror are a shared problem. According to him, there are partnership mechanisms for assistance, including the supply of decommissioned equipment.

Shmyhal assured that the situation at all of the capital’s CHPPs is under government control. They are supposed to be restored and receive additional protection before the next heating season.
