Latvia has provided an additional EUR 125,000 to support the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure and the stabilization of its energy system.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said this in a statement following a meeting between Foreign Ministers Andrii Sybiha and Baiba Braze in Kyiv on Thursday, November 27, Ukrinform reports.

"The foreign ministers focused on supporting Ukraine's energy system ahead of winter. The Ukrainian side is grateful for Latvia's additional contribution of EUR 125,000, which will help restore energy facilities, ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, and stabilize the energy system," the ministry said.

Sybiha expressed deep gratitude to Latvia for its comprehensive support of Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, including annual defense assistance equivalent to 0.25% of Latvia's GDP. In total, Latvian aid has already exceeded 1.6% of GDP.

"This includes weapons, ammunition, military training, and financial support. We are also grateful to Latvia for joining PURL and for the recent delivery of 42 PATRIA 6x6 armored personnel carriers," he added.
