Canada to help attract private investors for Ukraine’s reconstruction

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, this was stated in a joint communiqué following the visit of the Canadian Prime Minister to Ukraine.

“Canada and Ukraine will work to mobilize private sector involvement in Ukraine’s reconstruction, leveraging tools such as multilateral development banks and export credit agencies like Export Development Canada,” the document reads.

Ukraine and Canada also agreed to initiate annual consultations between the foreign affairs and defense ministries of both countries and to develop joint defense projects.

As reported by Ukrinform, on August 24, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney visited Kyiv, where he revealed the details of a $1.5 billion U.S. defense assistance package for Ukraine.
