One way to address the labor shortage in Ukraine could be the voluntary return of Ukrainian migrants, provided the country ensures their safety.

Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Unity of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov stated this on Facebook, as reported by Ukrinform.

"Today, our country needs specialists in various fields," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized. "At the same time, over 6 million displaced Ukrainians remain abroad."

According to Chernyshov, this represents a significant workforce potential. Additionally, addressing the labor shortage requires preserving and developing the country's internal human capital. This is a complex task that involves education reform, large-scale retraining programs, economic inclusion, support for women's entrepreneurship, high healthcare standards, reintegration of veterans into the workforce, and the inclusion of people with disabilities and internally displaced persons (IDPs) into the labor market.

"We must create opportunities that encourage people to work and develop in Ukraine. The return of Ukrainians and the development of human capital are critically important for the successful post-war recovery of our country," Chernyshov stated.

As Ukrinform previously reported, during a meeting with Karolina Lindholm Billing, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Representative in Ukraine, Chernyshov stressed the importance of continuing projects that help Ukrainians return home.
