Ukraine impresses the world with its achievements - Lagarde

is impressed by the progress that Ukraine has achieved over the past few months.

She stated this during a joint briefing with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv on September 6, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"I'm really impressed with the progress that has been made over the past few months. Ukraine has surprised the world with its achievements in such a short period of time. It's incredible. I can say this because, being the Managing Director of the IMF, we know the basic information, and monitor the events happening in the country," Lagarde said.

According to her, Ukraine, amidst very difficult circumstances, has managed to achieve macroeconomic stabilization and get the economy which shows the signs of recovery and becomes more powerful.

Lagarde also noted that the IMF and the international community would continue supporting Ukraine. "We do not just support Ukraine, but admire it," she added.
