French President Emmanuel Macron has promised to once again raise the issue before Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the release of Ukrainian political prisoners and prisoners of war, including Ukrinform journalist Roman Sushchenko.

Macron said this at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris on Monday, June 17, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"We pay special attention to captive journalists and artists. Therefore, I will talk about it again during negotiations with Putin," Macron said, when asked about France's help in releasing Sushchenko.

The French leader also emphasized the need for the release of Ukrainian seamen captured by Russia.
