Moscow Court to continue hearing on Sushchenko case on April 25 - Feygin

Moscow City Court on April 25 will hold a hearing to consider written evidence and motions in the case of Ukrinform correspondent Roman Sushchenko, who was illegally arrested in Moscow.

The journalist's lawyer, Mark Feygin, wrote this on his Facebook page.

“The prosecution has completed the representation of evidence in the case of Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko in Moscow City Court. On April 25, 2018, the defense will begin to submit written evidence and motions,” he wrote.

As reported, Ukrinform's correspondent in France, Roman Sushchenko, was detained in violation of international rules on September 30, 2016 in Moscow, where he arrived on a private trip.

On October 7, he was charged with "espionage." Russia's FSB claimed that Sushchenko is a member of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry. The latter denied this allegation.

Moscow City Court extended Sushchenko's arrest until September 16.
