Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said this in an interview with Austrian magazine Profil.
"We are ready to release Russian soldiers who came to our land as killers in order to free Sushchenko," he said, recalling that on February 8, the Ukrainian journalist marked his second birthday in a Russian prison.
The head of state also stressed that Ukraine seeks to liberate all Ukrainians held in Russia. In particular, he recalled that Crimean film director Oleh Sentsov was imprisoned by Russia almost four years ago.
"Sushchenko, Sentsov, many Crimean Tatars - we want to return them," Poroshenko said.
