Foreign Ministry expresses protest over extension of Sushchenko's arrest

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has expressed its protest over the decision to extend the unjustified detention of Ukrinform journalist Roman Sushchenko for two more months, the ministry's spokesperson, Mariana Betsa, has said.

"The unjustified detention of journalist Sushchenko in Russia on trumped-up charges. We express our protest. We will fight further," she wrote on Twitter on Monday.

As reported, on Monday, September 25, Moscow's City Court extended the arrest of Ukrinform journalist Roman Sushchenko for another two months - until November 30, 2017.
