Attempts to deport Ukrainian children to Russia are being observed in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region.

That’s according to the chief of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, who addressed the issue on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"The Commissioner for Children's Rights under the Russian president visited captured towns, bearing the appropriate intentions. So, in the next few days, more than 100 children and orphans deprived of parental care will be taken to Russia. The Russians are stripping the occupied settlements of their men, who are being forcibly mobilized, and now they are also taking away children," Haidai noted.

The official added that this is yet another example of the inability of the occupation authorities to relaunch operations of social establishments, which had been well organized for years, including the appropriate financing of boarding schools and sanatoriums.

"They are moving children from there because they are a financial burden to them, not the future generation," the head of Luhansk region emphasized.

As reported, on February 24, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages, employing artillery, multiple rocket launchers, air bombs and ballistic missiles.
