Ukrainian delegation at WADA Congress discusses cooperation on fight against doping

The 5th World Congress of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) kicked off in Katowice, Poland, on October 5, which will focus on the 2021 WADA Code review.

The Ukrainian delegation, headed by Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Volodymyr Shumilin, is taking part in the event, the ministry's website has reported.

"As part of the Congress, a working meeting of Shumilin with WADA Director of the European Regional Office Sebastien Gillot and Advisor for Government Relations Rene Bouchard took place," reads the report.

The Ukrainian side informed about changes in the Ukrainian sports industry.

In turn, WADA managers assured of support for reforms in the sports sector and called on Ukraine to follow the WADA recommendations formed after the audit of the Ukrainian anti-doping program in October 2019.
