UA:First TV Channel has received the right to broadcast the finals of the 2022 World Cup to be held in Qatar from November 21 to December 18, 2022, the channel's general producer, Yaroslav Lodyhin, has said in an interview with Ukraine's sports news site Tribuna.com.

"Championships are expensive. That is why in the past years we had the practice of making broadcasts together with Ukraina [TV channel]. We divided world championships. We did not broadcast the latest [World Cup] at all – we gave [these rights] to Inter so as to compensate for the costs of forced purchase of rights. But we no longer intend to give them the next World Cup," he said.

According to him, UA:First has a priority right to such tournaments as a member of the European Broadcasting Union. "This is our advantage in the struggle for a huge number of sports competitions," Lodyhin said.
