Russian boxer Alexander Ustinov, 42, will not compete with Oleksandr Usyk, 32, in the latter's heavyweight debut scheduled for October 12, the Ukrainian boxer's manager, Oleksandr Krasiuk, has said.

"There is no chance that Usyk will fight on the 12th [of October], but Russian Alexander Ustinov will definitely not be his rival. Other options are being considered. Now I won't say which ones," Russian sports newspaper Sport-Express quoted Krasiuk as saying.

Earlier it was reported that Ustinov had agreed to replace Dutch boxer Tyrone Spong in a fight with Usyk.

The Usyk-Spong fight in the heavyweight division was to take place on October 12 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, the United States. It was reported on October 8 that the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) had detected banned drugs in Spong's doping test. The Ukrainian boxer's team said that there were other contenders.
