Konoplyanka moves to Shakhtar Donetsk
The club signed a three-year contract with the player. Other terms of the contract have not yet been disclosed.
Germany's Besiktas showed interest in Konoplyanka this summer, but the Ukrainian player's transfer to the Turkish club was disrupted in August. Italy's Roma and Sampdoria were also among potential contenders for signing the footballer.
The midfielder left Ukraine in the summer of 2015 when he moved from Dnipro to Sevilla. However, Konoplyanka did not show good play in Spain and was loaned to Schalke 04 a year later. In 2017, Schalke 04 signed the Ukrainian for 12.5 million euros.
Konoplyanka scored one goal and made two assists in 21 matches played for Schalke 04 during all tournaments. The 29-year-old's contract with the German club was due to expire in June 2020.
