The report that Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko has accepted DAZN's offer and will hold a fight in Kyiv on May 25 turned out to be an April Fool's Day joke from Ukraine's sports news site Sport Arena.
Sport Arena reported later that Wladimir Klitschko was just thinking about returning to the ring.
"The Ukrainian sports world was struck by the news about Wladimir Klitschko's return to the ring. The Ukrainian world champion allegedly had to fight at the Olympic Stadium in Kyiv on May 25. Perhaps, Wladimir will return to the ring, and he is only thinking about that, but the date and venue of the fight is just a joke from Sport Arena," the report says.
It was reported on April 1 that the live sports streaming service DAZN would pay Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko $120 million for three bouts and that the first boxing match would take place at the Olympic Stadium in Kyiv on May 25.
