Svitolina climbs to fifth position in WTA ranking

Ukraine’s No.1 tennis player Elina Svitolina climbed one spot to the fifth position in the ranking of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) updated on March 18.

WTA ranking is headed by Naomi Osaka from Japan (5,991), Petra Kvitova from the Czech Republic (5,550), Simona Halep from Romania (5,457), and Angelique Kerber from Germany (5,315). Elina Svitolina ranks fifth with 5,225 points, Ukrinform reports.

In the WTA ranking, Ukraine’s Lesya Tsurenko (1,806) and Dayana Yastremska (1,378) retained their spots – the 28th and 37th, respectively. Kateryna Kozlova (615) climbed from the 114th to 101st position.
