Svitolina drops to seventh spot in WTA ranking

Ukraine's top seeded tennis player Elina Svitolina has lost one position and ranks 7th in the updated rating of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) as of January 14.

Svitolina, wo has 4,940 points, is now behind Romanian Simona Halep (6,642), German Angelique Kerber (5,505), Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark (5,436), Japanese Naomi Osaka (5,270), American Sloane Stephens (5,077) and Czech Petra Kvitova (5,000), Ukrinform reports.

Another Ukrainian, Lesia Tsurenko (1,896), remains in 24th position. Dayana Yastremska (1,009) took 57th place for the first time. Kateryna Kozlova (636) climbed three positions to 94th.

Anhelina Kalinina (549) climbed one spot to 107th, and Marta Kostyuk (505) is 116th.
