Dzhima wins first Biathlon World Cup gold in Slovenia

Ukrainian Yuliia Dzhima, the 4x6 km relay 2014 Olympic champion, has won a 15km individual women's race at the first stage of the Biathlon World Cup in Pokljuka, Slovenia.

Poland's Monika Hojnisz finished second, just 5.9 seconds behind the 28-year-old Ukrainian, and Czech Republic biathlete Marketa Davidova (16.5 seconds behind) was third, Ukrinform reports.

It was the first victory for Dzhima in her personal performance at World Cup stages. 

A total of 102 biathletes participated in the race.
