Ukrainian Bilodid becomes youngest world champion in judo history

Seventeen-year-old Ukrainian judoka Daria Bilodid has won a gold medal at the World Judo Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.

In the final of the world championship in the 48 kg division, Bilodid defeated 2017 champion Funa Tonaki from Japan, according to Sport Arena.

On her way to the finals of the World Judo Championships Bilodid won three clashes in previous rounds, and in the semifinal match she defeated Paula Pareto of Argentina.

Thus, the 17-year-old Daria Bilodid became the youngest world champion in judo history.
