Lomachenko named BWAA's pound-for-pound king

The Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) has again recognized Ukrainian boxer Vasyl Lomachenko as the world's pound-for-pound king.

The rating is updated once every two months, and Lomachenko holds the first place for the third straight time, according to Sport Arena.

American Terence Crawford is slightly behind the Ukrainian boxer in this ranking, and Kazakh Gennady Golovkin is third. Lomachenko's potential opponent, American Mikey Garcia, is fourth.

Another Ukrainian boxer, Oleksandr Usyk, after his victory over Murat Gassiev of Russia moved to eighth spot in the pound-for-pound rating. Briton Anthony Joshua comes in at No. 10. 

The BWAA's top ten pound-for-pound boxers in the world:

4. Mikey Garcia - 160

5. Errol Spence Jr. - 131

Earlier, Vasyl Lomachenko was named the BWAA's 2017 Fighter of the Year. He became only one of four boxers who received votes from all journalists without exception.
