Svitolina fifth in WTA ranking

Ukraine’s No.1 tennis player Elina Svitolina has retained the fifth spot in the ranking of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) updated on August 6.
WTA ranking is headed by Simona Halep from Romania (7,511), Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark (6,660), Sloane Stephens from the United States (5,492), and Angelique Kerber (5,305). Elina Svitolina ranks fifth with 5,020 points, Ukrinform reports.
Lesya Tsurenko from Kyiv (1,225) moved down six positions over the past week and now ranks 45th. Kateryna Bondarenko (759) is the 86th (-7), Kateryna Kozlova (749) - the 89th (+1).
In the WTA ranking, Dayana Yastremska (609) retained the 104th spot. Marta Kostiuk (472) took the 131st position (-2) and Angelina Kalinina (441) – the 139th (+4).
