Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk has said that he does not need a Hero of Ukraine title.

He said this at a press conference on Wednesday, August 1, according to Tribuna.com.

"A hero title? I do not need any stars. I am already a hero for my people, for a certain number of people in my country. I do not need such honors," Usyk said.

As reported, Usyk defeated Russian Murat Gassiev in Moscow on July 21 and became the first man to hold the WBC, WBO, WBA, IBF cruiserweight belts.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko congratulated Usyk on his victory, whereas Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman proposed awarding a Hero of Ukraine title to the boxer.
