Tsurenko wins WTA tournament in Acapulco

Ukraine's second seed and world No. 40 Lesia Tsurenko has defended her title at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel WTA tournament in Acapulco (Mexico), with a prize pool of $250,000.
In the final match Tsurenko defeated world No. 183 Stefanie Voegele of Switzerland 5-7, 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 in two hours and 46 minutes early on Sunday, March 4, Ukrinform reports.
During the tournament, the Ukrainian ousted American Lauren Davis (6-4, 6-1), Australian Arina Rodionova (6-3, 6-1), French Kristina Mladenovic (6-2, 6-2) and Australian Daria Gavrilova (6-2, 6-4).
This is the fourth career title for Tsurenko in the WTA singles tournaments. She triumphed in Istanbul (Turkey) in 2015, in Guangzhou (China) in 2016 and in Acapulco in 2017.
The victory in the final of the Abierto Mexicano Telcel brought the Ukrainian $43,000 in prize money and 280 rating points.
