Lomachenko to hold next fight in April - Bob Arum

Ukrinform
The promoter of WBO world super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko, Bob Arum, has disclosed the plans of the Ukrainian boxer for the near future.

"He's going to take a month off and then we're going to talk right after the first of the year. We'll figure out when he's coming back and if he wants to stay at 130 or move up to lightweight. I'm not prejudging anything, but if you talk about professionals, his father Anatoly, Egis the manager and Vasyl himself, it's like dealing with extraordinarily smart people. It sounds to me like it will be April," he said in an interview with BoxingTalk.

Arum said that he would like Lomachenko to move up to lightweight and fight Mikey Garcia. "I would like to see him fight Linares, Garcia, this guy just wants challenges. He's up for anything, he's never turned down an opponent and he only looks for tough fights," Arum said.

Last week, Lomachenko defeated earlier unbeaten Guillermo Rigondeaux. Now the Ukrainian has to think whether to move up to lightweight or to try to unite the belts in super featherweight.
