Ukrainian tennis player Svitolina becomes world No. 6

Elina Svitolina won the Italian Open by beating Simona Halep 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 in the women's final on Sunday.

Thus, Ukraine’s No. 1 has become No. 6 in the world rating, XSport reports.

Ukrainian tennis player scored 900 rating points and will leave behind Caroline Wozniacki, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Dominika Cibulkova and Johanna Konta. In addition, the Svitolina has headed the WTA champion race. She is now ahead of Karolina Pliskova in this ranking by more than 300 points.

The victory in Rome became the fourth title for the Ukrainian tennis player this season and the second one in the Premier 5 tournament.
