Kichenok sisters victorious in opener at Auckland tennis tournament

The Ukrainian tennis players Lyudmyla and Nadiya Kichenok have reached the second round of doubles competition at the prestigious WTA tournament held in Auckland, New Zealand with a prize fund of $250,000.

In the opener the Dnipropetrovsk city residents vanquished the British double Jocelyn Rae - Anna Smith - 6:3, 6:3, Ukrinform reports.

In the quarterfinals the Ukrainian sisters will face Argentine-Czech double Maria Irigoyen – Barbora Krejcikova.

As a reminder, the weathered Italian double Sara Errani - Roberta Vinci won last year’s tournament in Auckland.
