50 Polish humanitarian trucks arrive in Kharkiv

KYIV, December 19 /Ukrinform/. A humanitarian convoy provided by the Polish Foreign Ministry for internally displaced persons from the anti-terroristic operation area in eastern Ukraine arrived in Kharkiv on Friday morning, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

Two columns of more than fifty trucks of the Polish State Fire Service, accompanied by traffic police cars, arrived in Kharkiv via the Korotych checkpoint.

The humanitarian aid, weighing up to 150 tonnes, consists of more than 5,000 food packages, about 2,000 children's hygiene packages, 200 beds for the Kharkiv-based Romashka camp for internally displaced persons, winter jackets, heaters, sleeping bags, and many other things, worth $1 million.

The recipients of the cargo are the Red Cross, voluntary and community organizations.
