More than 50% of Ukrainians do not support the initiative of introducing visa regime with the Russian Federation.

This is evidenced by the results of the nationwide poll conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation and the Razumkov Centre. The results were presented today by Director of the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation, Iryna Bekeshkina, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The majority of the population of Ukraine – 51% – does not support the possible introduction of visa regime with the Russian Federation; 33% of respondents support this decision, 16% are undecided," Bekeshkina said.

According to her, the negative attitude to the possible visa regime is reasoned by the fact that 51% of Ukrainians have relatives and friends who live in Russia.

The poll was conducted on June 9-13, 2017. 2,018 respondents were interviewed in all the regions of Ukraine, except for Crimea and the occupied territories in Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
