Ukraine, Malta agree on cooperation in sphere of higher education, youth and sports

In the presence of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat several documents in the field of higher education, youth and sports have been signed.

This has been reported by the press service of the Head of State.

In particular, the Memorandum of Cooperation in the sphere of higher education between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry for Education and Employment of Malta has been signed. The document is aimed to enhance relations in the sphere of higher education via mutual exchange of experience and information on the issues of management of education system, establishment and development of direct cooperation between the higher education institutions, exchange of scientific and pedagogical staff for short- and long-term educational work under contracts.

The parties have also concluded the Memorandum of Cooperation in the sphere of youth and sports between the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the Ministry for Education and Employment of Malta. The document creates necessary legal conditions for the development of bilateral Ukraine-Malta relations in the given spheres through the executive bodies, civil youth organizations, sports organizations and federations.

The parties have also signed the Memorandum of Understanding regarding bilateral consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malta. The document provides for the holding of regular consultations and exchange of opinions with a view to discuss ways to enhance cooperation on the issues of bilateral, regional and inter-regional nature of mutual interest.
