EU ready to invest millions of euros in National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine – Mingarelli

Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli said this at the international conference "The independence of the public broadcaster's management bodies is a key prerequisite for successful reform," an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"A public broadcaster requires appropriate resources. This means that there must be a real budget. We hope that an additional budget will be allocated for the public broadcasting service to work properly. We are ready with the EU member states to invest several million euros in the public broadcasting service for work in proper conditions," Mingarelli said.

He has also said that EU member states constantly monitor the work of the public broadcasting. The EU representative has also noted that the public broadcasting and high-quality news are an important element of any democratic system.
