More than half of residents of the occupied Donetsk see the future of their city in Ukraine.

This is evidenced by the results of the poll, conducted by the Institute for Social Research and Political Analysis. The results were presented by Chairman of the Institute Volodymyr Kypen during the panel discussion "Three years of Resistance to Russian occupation of Donbas", an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"This poll dispels the myth of the total commitment of Donetsk residents to Russia and the absence of Ukrainian patriots in Donbas," Kypen said.

The poll was conducted in Donetsk and surrounding towns in late March 2014. The sociologists interviewed 500 people. It turned out that about 50% of them saw the future of Donetsk in Ukraine, another 10% wanted Donetsk to be the Ukrainian city with the right to conduct their own independent reforms. Thus, almost 60% of respondents did not support the Russian occupation.
