58% of Ukrainians support country’s accession to the European Union, while more than 40% of Ukrainians support joining NATO.

Such results were announced by Irina Bekeshkina, the Director of the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation during presentation of the poll.

"58% of respondents support joining the EU. There also was the question about the best security option for Ukraine. Over 40% of respondents believe joining NATO is the best option, while 26% support the non-aligned status. There is a drop in support for the prospects of military alliances with Russia, but 6% of respondents still hold to such an opinion," she said.

The poll was conducted in cooperation with the Razumkov Centre sociological service in all regions of Ukraine, except Crimea and the occupied territories in Donbas, on December 16-20, 2016.
