According to Ukrinform, Dmytro Lykhovii, spokesperson for the General Staff, said this in a Facebook post.

"Anything can happen someday. We are not immune to that either. But as of now, this is fake," Lykhovii said.

He added that, for Kyiv residents, "the real strikes and their consequences should have been enough."

"Think about why someone is spreading fabricated scare stories. Take it into account and draw your own conclusions," Lykhovii said.

He also urged media outlets to verify information before publishing it.

"This applies especially to reputable media outlets, not just to random online grifters. Verify the information. After all, the State Emergency Service provides official updates," the spokesperson added.

Earlier, Stanislav Ihnatiev, head of the board of the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Association, said that Kyiv residents should keep at least a three-day supply of drinking and utility water, warning that Russian forces may continue attempting to target the capital's water supply and energy infrastructure.
