On World Press Freedom Day, Kyrylo Budanov thanks media outlets that work honestly and adhere to professional standards.

According to Ukrinform, he wrote this on Facebook.

"Information is a weapon. We know from our own experience how it works in the hands of the enemy: Russian propaganda is not journalism, but a full-fledged war machine, and their 'journalists' are accomplices to horrific war crimes against our state," he said.

"That is why freedom of speech for us is an element of national security. It is also about responsibility, truth, and trust. A strong state is impossible without strong media," Budanov emphasized.

He stressed that "our right to know the truth depends on the integrity of those who choose ethics over hype and honesty over profit."
