Russia restricts access to Western social media in occupied territories – National Resistance Center
That is according to Ukraine's National Resistance Center, Ukrinform reports.
"The main tool of control has become the 'TSPU' system – technical means for countering threats installed at internet providers. This system enables centralized filtering of all traffic. It blocks websites in real time without users' knowledge," the statement said.
The internet in the occupied territories is being transformed into a closed ecosystem. The primary sources of information are limited to Kremlin-controlled resources, while alternative viewpoints are being completely pushed out. Content is filtered even before it reaches users.
The National Resistance Center said that young people are suffering the most, as they are losing connection with the global world. Educational and cultural resources are being replaced with local propaganda-driven alternatives, shaping a distorted perception of reality.
"The occupiers are building a 'digital fortress.' Here, the internet has become a tool of censorship and total control – an environment of manipulation rather than free exchange of ideas," the Center added.
