The Holy See plays primarily a moral and diplomatic role in the process of returning Ukrainian children deported to Russia, according to Apostolic Nuncio to Ukraine Visvaldas Kulbokas.

He made the remarks in an interview with Ukrinform.

"This is a joint international effort. The Ukrainian side, various states, and international organizations are working to bring the children back. The Holy See has primarily moral and diplomatic influence in this process," Kulbokas said.

He stressed that the Holy See provides lists, facilitates communication, and supports humanitarian initiatives.

"But it is important to understand that this is a collective effort of many parties," Kulbokas added.
