A joint team formed from servicemembers of the cybersecurity units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the UK’s 21st Signal Regiment took second place among 36 teams at international cyber exercises in Singapore.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Facebook by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“The joint team, formed from servicemembers of the cybersecurity units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the UK’s 21st Signal Regiment, ranked second among 36 teams overall. This result was achieved thanks to a functionally balanced model of cooperation,” the post reads.

As explained by the press service, the British side ensured communication resilience and process coordination, while Ukrainian military cyber specialists implemented the technical core of the operation: developing a defense strategy for the provided infrastructure, conducting Cyber Threat Intelligence activities, detecting and containing attacks, analyzing compromised systems, and preparing structured technical reports.

The effectiveness of the cooperation was based on combining complementary approaches. The Ukrainian side acted based on practical experience in countering real cyberattacks amid the ongoing cyber aggression against Ukraine, which ensured high-speed decision-making and adaptability to changing scenarios.

British partners applied standardized process management mechanisms and procedural discipline. Synchronizing these approaches made it possible to maintain infrastructure stability during the active phase of attacks and achieve high performance at all stages of the exercises.

It is noted that, under conditions of constant cyber confrontation, Ukraine has accumulated applied expertise in responding to complex targeted campaigns against military and government digital systems. Participation in Defence Cyber Marvel 2026 served as a mechanism for integrating this experience into a multinational environment and testing it against international evaluation standards. Practices developed by Ukraine’s cybersecurity units are of practical value to partners and contribute to strengthening collective cyber resilience.

As reported, in February 2026, the international cybersecurity exercises Defence Cyber Marvel 2026 were held in the Republic of Singapore, organized by the UK Ministry of Defence (Cyber & Specialist Operations Command) with the participation of partner countries. More than 2,500 representatives from 29 countries took part in the event.

The exercises focused on practicing complex cyber defense scenarios simulating attacks on military command systems, cloud environments, and segments of critical infrastructure.

The goal of the exercises was to enhance the capabilities of cybersecurity units of the United Kingdom and partner countries in responding to complex, multi-layered cyberattacks, as well as to improve the practical application of modern technologies, including AI/ML-based solutions, in threat detection and analysis.

As reported by Ukrinform, on March 12 the Verkhovna Rada ratified the Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on Ukraine’s participation in the EU program Digital Europe (2021–2027).
