EU institutions in Brussels lit up in colours of Ukrainian flag
This was reported by an Ukrinform correspondent in Brussels.
“Tonight, we adorn our European institutions with the colours of Ukraine. Two colours, carrying the spirit of courage. Two colours, burning with resistance,” wrote Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, on X.

“Four years into Russia’s full-scale war, these colours are shining brighter than ever. Slava Ukraini,” the post reads.

Meanwhile, the press service of the EU Council emphasized on X that the building hosting meetings of the EU Council and the European Council was lit in blue and yellow as a sign of solidarity with Ukraine.

“The EU will continue to stand with Ukraine and support a comprehensive, just and lasting peace,” the press service said.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, at the initiative of the civic organization Ukrainian Voices and the Ukrainian community, an event commemorating 1,462 days of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine took place in Brussels’ main square.
Grand Place was illuminated in the colors of Ukraine, while a symbolic projection allowed visitors to experience what millions of Ukrainians went through on the night of February 23–24, 2022 – the final night before the start of the full-scale war.
