Shmyhal on energy situation: Kyiv was completely unprepared, crisis measures must be taken
He stated this during his speech in the Verkhovna Rada, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"The regional and city authorities of Kharkiv prepared the city: there are mobile boiler houses and distributed generation. Kyiv, unfortunately, was prepared much more weakly. I will say it plainly: it was not prepared at all. Therefore, crisis measures will now have to be taken," Shmyhal said.
He added that stabilizing energy supply in Kyiv is being addressed at the highest level.
As reported, consumers in the capital are currently provided with approximately three consecutive hours of electricity, while outages last up to 10 hours.
On the night of January 9, Russians carried out a massive strike on energy facilities in Kyiv, as a result of which part of the city was left without electricity and heating.
