Only Ukrainian citizens allowed to leave Moldova toward Odesa via two border crossings
Two checkpoints on the Moldova – Ukraine border are operating under a special regime following Russian drone attacks in southern Odesa region on December 18 and 19, NewsMaker reports, according to Ukrinform.
Moldova’s Border Police said on December 20 that departures from Moldova through the Tudora checkpoint toward Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi are allowed without restrictions.
However, travel toward Odesa is permitted only for Ukrainian citizens and vehicles weighing up to seven tons.
The agency also emphasized that departures from Moldova through the Palanca – Maiaky – Udobne checkpoint are currently restricted to Ukrainian citizens only. Vehicles must also weigh no more than seven tons. Travel toward Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi via this checkpoint remains unrestricted.
Moldova’s Border Police advised citizens to refrain from traveling to Odesa at this time.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, border checkpoints toward the Odesa – Reni highway in Odesa region are operating, but traffic toward Odesa and the Moldovan border is complicated due to damage to a bridge near the village of Maiaky.
