Five communities in Ukraine's northeastern Sumy region have received school buses purchased with funds from a state budget subsidy.

Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"Five communities in the Sumy region have received new school buses to transport children from remote villages. These are the Kyrykivka, Bochechky, Berezivka, Sad, and Nyzhnia Syrovatka communities," he said.

According to Hryhorov, the vehicles were purchased using a state budget subsidy – with funding provided by the European Union under the Ukraine Facility instrument.

Earlier reports said that ten new school buses specially equipped for children with special educational needs had recently been handed over to communities in the Kyiv region.
