Zelensky visits wounded soldiers, presents them with awards

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with servicemen undergoing treatment for their injuries and presented state awards to soldiers and combat medics.

The head of state reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Today, on the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, I met with our warriors who are now undergoing treatment after being wounded, and with the medics who are helping them recover. I presented state awards to our defenders – guys from the Land Forces, the Territorial Defense Forces, the 138th Special Purpose Center, and the Airborne Assault Forces. Thank you for standing with Ukraine, for your service, and for defending our people," Zelensky said.

He also expressed gratitude to combat medics and decorated them with awards.

"They treat the wounded, take part in evacuations, and provide medical aid in frontline areas. Thank you for your service and for doing everything to preserve every life," Zelensky said.

On October 1, Ukrainians mark the Day of Defenders of Ukraine and the Day of Ukrainian Cossacks, which coincides with the Christian feast of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin.
