62% of Ukrainians surveyed are prepared to endure the war for as long as necessary.

According to Ukrinform, this is evidenced by data from a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.

According to the study, only 18% of Ukrainians expect the war to end by the end of 2025. Meanwhile, 27% of respondents say 2026, 32% say 2027 or later. One in four respondents (23%) answered “I don't know.”

At the same time, the majority of Ukrainians (62%) continue to say that they are ready to endure the war for as long as necessary (at the beginning of June 2025, it was 60%).

Another 4% of respondents said they were prepared to endure the situation for about a year.

A shorter period (six months or several months) was mentioned by 21% of respondents (practically unchanged over the last few months).

Among those who expect the war to end this year, 41% are prepared to endure the situation for as long as necessary.

The figure among those who expect it to end in 2026 is 63%, and among those who expect it to end in 2027 and later, it is 74%. Among those who answered “I don't know,” 61% are willing to endure as long as necessary.

According to the survey, the vast majority of Ukrainians—76%—believe that even without US support, Ukraine should continue to fight alongside its European allies.

Only 14% of respondents believe that under such conditions, Ukraine should agree to any of Russia's demands.

Since March 2025, the number of those willing to fight has decreased slightly, but to a rather insignificant extent. In other words, Ukrainians' opinions on this issue have hardly changed in recent months, sociologists emphasized.

The survey was conducted on September 2-14 among adult (18 years and older) citizens of Ukraine who, at the time of the survey, lived in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government.

The statistical error of the sample of 1,023 respondents (with a probability of 0.95 and taking into account the design effect of 1.3) does not exceed 4.1%.

As reported by Ukrinform, the absolute majority of Ukrainians surveyed, 76%, believe in the possibility of victory in the war if Ukraine is properly supported by sanctions against Russia and receives sufficient weapons and money.
